1. Construction & Items Included

What exactly comes with a kit vs completed ensemble?

The kit includes all of the same parts as the completed ensemble (minus any bonus features listed on the product listing), but may require some trimming, assembly and basic building skills. Both the kit and completed ensemble include a finished ready-to-wear helmet.

What is the thickness of material?

The armor pieces will be vacuum-formed from a range of .060" (thinner) to .090” (thicker) ABS. Thinner ABS will be used for detailed parts and thicker ABS will be used for parts that need reinforcement and greater durability.

What are the sizing options for?

The sizing options are solely for both the two-piece arming bodysuit worn under the armor and the gloves. 

The armor itself is one size only.

Where is my neckseal?

Be sure to check inside the clear plastic bag which also contains black webbing and hook and loop material. 

Does it include glue, hook and loop, etc?

Basic hook and loop and strapping will be included. For more complex rigging systems, we leave that (and the components for that) up to the end user. 

Acquisition of glues and other tools is left up to the end-user.

A very small amount of blue and gray paint is needed, but not included with the kit.

What other tools are required for the kit?

We would recommend a utility knife, snap setting tool, drill, hammer, screwdrivers, scissors, masking tape, clamps, rule, paintbrush, pencil and sandpaper.

Is the helmet available unassembled / unpainted?

The completed and kit versions of the armor include a finished ready-to-wear helmet. If you wish to purchase an additional standalone helmet (in either kit or completed form), please click here.

What material is used for the belt?

The material used in the belt is a cotton canvas with hook and loop closure. There are also some ABS plastic components of the belt.

Is the holster real leather?

Yes, we are using genuine leather for the holster per the original screen-used costumes.

Will you be working on other variants to the Stormtrooper armor?

The white armored Stormtrooper costumes are based upon STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE. We also offer a Shadow Stormtrooper costume here.

Will instructions be included with the kit?

Yes, instructions are available as a PDF download here. Note that the instructions provided for the kit are only a guide for assembling this Stormtrooper armor. There are other methods you may wish to investigate, and you should always be careful to test fit all pieces before making any permanent bonds.

What is inside the helmet?

The complete, ready-to-wear helmet includes an adjustable and removable helmet suspension rig system to fit up to size 8 heads. The single piece flat lens is also removable. There are no electronics included.

Does the armor need to be painted?

The armor does not require painting, however there are details on the abdomen that will need to be painted per the assembly instructions.

Is the armor itself lined or padded?

The completed ensemble may include a lined interior. If you pre-ordered this version, you may wish to contact us for details.

2. Lineage and 501st Approvals

What Stormtrooper variation is this based on?

This particular costume is based upon the Stormtroopers seen in STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE. Because every costume was slightly different, some parts have been cleaned up and idealized for a uniform appearance.

Is this 501st approvable?

501st Legion membership is based upon the quality and appearance of the costume parts as well as the fit of the costume on the wearer. Please consult the 501st Legion for additional details regarding membership approval.

3. Fit

What are the dimensions of each particular part?

We cannot provide specific dimensions, but the overall design is based upon screen-used original costumes.

Is the top and bottom of the undersuit available in different sizes if I am a Large top but Medium bottom?

Yes, please contact our customer service at support@anovos.com if you require two different arming suit sizes.

If I am in between sizes, which size should I go with?

You should go with the larger of the two sizes you are between, and have the soft-good part tailored to fit (if needed). 

Can I change sizes for the undersuit and gloves after the submitting the pre-order (and before the item ships)?

Yes, simply email us with the changes and we can make the change in our master system. 

If I find that the undersuit and gloves don't fit (either too big or too small), can we do an exchange?

In most cases, yes. Simply email us and we can work with you on this.

Please be aware that the customer will be responsible for all return and exchange shipping and handling charges. 

Will this fit me?

This costume is designed to fit a person that is between 5 ft. 8 in to 6 ft. (1.7 to 1.8 meters) in height, with a mesomorphic body-type. Because the armor parts are designed at a specific single size like the original costumes, some trimming or shimming may be required depending on your body type, particularly if your outside of the range (either smaller or taller). The kit version of this costume allows for maximum customization.

What size head can fit in the helmet?

The helmet is designed to fit up to a size 8 head with the existing suspension system. Size 8 is typically 25 inches (or 63.5 centimeters) in circumference. However, note that the head rig is removable which may allow for additional space inside the helmet.

4. Ordering and Payment

Is payment taken up front or billed at the time the item ships?

Payment for pre-orders is charged at the time the pre-order is submitted. 

If I need to cancel my order, will I receive a refund?

Yes, if you cancel your order prior to its being shipped, you will receive a full refund, no questions asked.

If I need to update my shipping address, can I do so? 

Yes, simply email us at support@anovos.com so we may update your address in our master system.

5. Shipping

When does it ship?

Product ships while inventory is available for current runs.

What countries do you ship to?

We are now able to ship STAR WARS merchandise to the following locations: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

For North America, we ship to: United States, United States Territories, and Canada.

Due to licensing restrictions, orders from territories not listed above will be immediately cancelled & refunded.

How many boxes will the kit ship in?

Shipment of kit version will be a box with all pieces including helmet, in addition to a separate package with soft goods which are specific to the size requested. Completed armor may require multiple boxes.

What is the shipping cost to [location]? 

Our website features a built-in live shipping rate calculator. To utilize it, add the item(s) you wish to purchase to the cart, and then go to the cart page. 

One at the cart page, scroll beneath the list of items you've added to the cart to the Shipping Estimator, and key in the proper information relating to the shipping address and click "Calculate Shipping". This will give you the rates for shipment and handling. 

6. Bulk Sales & Individual Component Availability

Will you sell separate parts like just the helmet, belt, etc.?

Yes, separate accessories will be available in the future. Helmet is currently available as a standalone accessory.

Will you sell the armor separate from the other components (sans helmet, undersuit, etc.)?

This is still being determined, so perhaps in the future.

Can we do bulk sales for the kit for my garrison / group?
