This Week in Star Trek News!

First Contact Day Wrap-up

Greetings Gentlebeings,

Whew...what a week we had last week! There was more STAR TREK UNIVERSE news dropped last week than in the last few months combined. Most of it coming from Monday's FIRST CONTACT DAY event.

The best way to take in all this information is directly from the source (in this case the panels and press releases dropped throughout First Contact Day), but we'll cover some of the major ones here.

ANOVOS also offered a BOGO Free offer for First Contact Week, and you can still grab those deals
with Coupon Code FCBOGO.

    - WARNING! WHILE THIS INFORMATION IS ALREADY OUT IN THE PUBLIC, THERE MAY BE SPOILERS HERE FOR THOSE WHO ARE TRYING TO AVOID ANY NEWS PRIOR TO THE SHOWS AIRING LIVE. -

Ok, if you're still reading then I'll assume that you're ok learning that Q is back!

John de Lancie crashed the Star Trek: Picard global panel confirming his presence in season 2.  Sir Patrick Stewart also introduced a new teaser trailer for the 2022 season, filled end to end with easter eggs that longtime Trekkies will be eager to dissect and interpret.

Star Trek: Prodigy is one of the most exciting Star Trek projects to come down the spaceways in years. As an animated show aimed mostly at new Star Trek viewers, Prodigy is set in the Delta Quadrant in 2383.

ViacomCBS press release stated that Prodigy "will follow a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the Star Trek Franchise – but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents."

And if that didn't sound cool enough, helping Prodigy's crew of kids is their ship's “Emergency Training Hologram”, Kathryn Janeway!

Over to my favorite of all the new shows - Star Trek: Lower Decks’ second season drops in just 4 months! And while there weren't too many spoilers given in the panel, the trailer was filled with glimpses of just some of the fun we can look forward to.

Original Series Movie Era ships, more Captain Riker, a Mugato (that’s how it’s spelled in the script), and "There ARE four lights!"  It all just looks amazing.

ReedPOP's New Official Star Trek Convention is set for April 2022.
We can't wait!

Oh, and did I mention that there was an announcement for Star Trek: Mission Chicago?

It's been a long time without any conventions, and this one at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center (of course, pandemic permitting) looks to be one the best we’ve seen in years.

Those are just a few of the really cool things we learned during Star Trek's First Contact Day.  If you missed any of the coverage, don't worry.

All of it is available to watch for free at https://www.startrek.com/firstcontact .

OH. I almost forgot...Captain Michael Burnham and her crew aboard the U.S.S. Discovery (NCC-1031-A) debuted their new Standard Shipboard Duty Uniforms from this year's upcoming season 4.

These new uniforms use the same department color scheme and patterning as the gray Formal Uniforms seen at the end of season 3. Well, we couldn't let a new uniform reveal go without mentioning it, right?

🖖 LLAP,
John
