STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION - Picard "Darmok" Jacket Update - October 2019

"Rai and Jiri at Lungha!" or—to translate that into Federation Standard—Greetings!

We have good news about our STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION Captain Picard "Darmok" Jacket and wanted to share that with all of you.

We have just received samples of the pre-production iteration for the new Picard Jacket called "Sizers." Receiving these jackets is an integral step in the manufacturing timeline. The purpose of the sizers is to confirm the garments are properly sewn and fitted before they go into final production.

Having had a chance to examine these sizers we're happy to report that they are fantastic and that using real suede for this piece gives it a sophisticated look.

The heft, and weight of the jacket is something that we found unexpectedly satisfying, and we think you'll enjoy the feel as much as we do. The drape of the jacket is outstanding as well, and very close indeed to how we see Sir Patrick wearing it in "Darmok." The skill and craftsmanship that the experienced leather artisans at our overseas factory craft into each jacket should speak for itself.

Captain Picard's "Darmok" Jacket has been one of those projects that we have a personal stake in. It's an insanely cool jacket from one of our favorite episodes here in the office, and it was a fantastic update to Captain Picard's look. Dressing Patrick Stewart in what amounted to a Starfleet field uniform served to both set him apart from the rest of the cast, and to make him more dashing—and it worked. Captain Picard's Field Uniform and its distinctive "Flight Jacket" is constantly mentioned as a “fan-favorite” look for Captain Picard over the seven seasons of TNG.

This jacket is one of our favorite replicas and we hope that you'll enjoy it as much as we do.

"Timba his arms wide.”
