In order to help our customers understand sizes, we've put together this set of instructions. Please feel free to print these out, so when you do go to get measured you can use it as a guide.
IMPORTANT: Please refer to this sizing and measurement guide. This will provide the information needed how to properly measure yourself (if you haven’t been measured already) to select a size. Buyer assumes full responsibility of sizes submitted for order. Upon submission of the order, the Buyer absolves ANOVOS of responsibility for incorrect measurements submitted and reserves the right for any exchanges to be made at the complete discretion of ANOVOS.
Please have your measurements taken properly by a professional tailor if possible. This will not only help in the selection of the size you will need to purchase, but also aid in additional tailoring where needed.
PLEASE NOTE: Sizes taken directly from commercial clothing should never be used as substitution of physical measurements. In addition, the sizing for the tunics run on the smaller side, so if you're on the "edge" between two sizes, it's best to probably go up a size.
The purchase of tunics and dresses will require additional tailoring similar to purchasing a men's suit or women's dress at a major department store. The lengths of tunic or dress sleeves can be adjusted as there are a few extra inches of material at the cuff. This will require repositioning of the rank braid as well, where applicable. Tunic and dress hems can be adjusted, as these also have extra material for most taller persons. A professional tailor, or someone with professional tailoring experience, should be able to make these alterations.
How to Measure
Some of the basics in measuring:
- Keep the tape firm but not tight.
- Make sure the tape is level around the area you are measuring.
- Take measurements in inches to determine correct sizing.
- Round up all measurements to the nearest inch. (Example: 10.5 inches round up to 11 inches.)
How to measure specific areas for fitting:
- Height: Measure for the top of your head to the floor standing straight up, your feet together, wearing no shoes.
- Arm Length: With your arm relaxed at side and slightly bent, measure from the center back of the neck, over point of shoulder, down the outside of the wrist.
- Neck: Measure around the adams apple of the the neck.
- Chest: Measure across the widest part of the chest or across the nipples.
- Waist: Measure from the navel point around the thinner area of the belly.
- Seat / Hips: Measure the widest part of the Gluteus Maximus.
